TRANSFER STRUCTURAL LOADS BELOW GRADE WITH LARGE DIAMETER CAISSONS
Caissons are generally considered “large diameter” if the outer casing is 20″ diameter or larger. They usually are reinforced with a steel rebar cage and filled with concrete. They are used for deep foundations used to transfer structural loads below grade to suitable soil and or rock. Caissons are designed to support higher loads than micro piles. Posillico has experience installing Caissons up to 72″in diameter.
