Secant & Tangent Walls
View ProjectsRETAIN UNDERGROUND SOIL FOR DEEP FOUNDATIONS WITH SECANT & TANGENT WALLS
Secant Walls/Tangent walls consist of overlapping/adjoining piles that create an underground wall which is used for retaining soil for deep foundations. Secant walls are usually drilled to a cut off layer such as rock to reduce water from entering a large excavation (commonly referred to as a “bathtub”).These overlapping/adjoining piles can also be used to support the structure above as foundation elements to save space in the lower levels of a building and provide two uses for one drilled element.
