PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project included the furnishing and installation of 102, 16” drilled displacement piles and 9 helical piles, to provide support for the foundation of a new school for the NYCSA.

WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX

This project presented several challenges: the site was located in a residential neighborhood, on an existent school property while school was in session. In addition, the unique style of piles required special equipment.

HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT

To take on those challenges and make this project a success, Posillico purchased the specialized tooling that would facilitate the installation of the piles. Posillico also developed a redesign of the grout mix to be able to batch it on site, providing the field crew with more flexibility and control.  The Posillico team was very conscious of the sensitive nature of the building and ongoing classes.  Success was achieved through working closely with the client, adjusting work hours, and remaining in constant communication with the stakeholders throughout the project.
