Roslyn Road Grade Crossing Elimination Wins National Award

Nov 1, 2009 | News and Awards

Posillico Civil, Inc. wins a national award for a short span railroad bridge structure installed at the Roslyn Road Grade Crossing Project in Mineola, NY. The project required close coordination between Posillico’s management team and several agencies including the LIRR and LIPA.
The project consisted of multiple utility relocations including a high voltage underground line that conducts a significant portion of Long Island’s power. The coordination required a multitude of critical utility infrastructures, further complicated by working around one of the nation’s busiest commuter rail lines. Preparation for installation of the bridge was coordinated over many months while the actual installation was done over a weekend outage without incident!
