PROJECT OVERVIEW
Posillico has an ongoing contract with Con Edison to perform Gas Leak Repair Services in their Westchester County Territory. The work consists of locating and repairing gas main and service leaks, which includes excavation and backfill. The service calls are performed on an as needed basis.
WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX
Due to the nature of this contract, responsiveness to task orders had to be quick. Mobilizing quickly was a priority, as well as installing the underground utilities within schedule and budget, while maintaining a high degree of safety implementation and traffic awareness. The contract required Posillico to have readily available labor. Lastly, since this was emergency infrastructure repair work, consideration was required when dealing with the community and the utility customers.
HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT
To prepare our staff, Posillico made continuous efforts to keep labor crews trained on technical and safety procedures. Posillico’s administrative teams also maintain qualifications for field crews, so they are available for quick project deployment. Ongoing communications and pre-planning activities with the owner were also crucial aspects in terms of task order executions.
