PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project involved the installation and replacement of 6.5 miles of 2” through 12” HDPE gas main along with (400) services, which was needed due to aging infrastructure and the increased number of new homes added to the existing grid. In addition, the work included live pipeline welding, tapping, and bagging of pipelines under pressure. The crew efficiently restored gas services and installed meter sets throughout Central Hudson’s service territory.

The contract for this project also included asphalt roads restoration, curb/sidewalks restoration and landscape restoration for all residences.

WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX

The work was performed in congested communities, so keeping the public safe and controlling on-going pedestrian and vehicular traffic was a priority. Other challenges included scheduling requirements, which called for road closures and completion of all work by the winter season. In addition, final restoration had its own challenges as it was difficult to ensure every homeowner was satisfied with their different needs.

HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT

Coordination with homeowners and clients before service-related work ensured a smooth transition throughout the infrastructure upgrade and minimal service disruption. Also, scheduling multiple crews to perform the work ensured the project was completed by the winter season.
