PROJECT OVERVIEW
Install a new eight acre landfill cell. Work includes the mixing and placing of 40,000 tons of bentonite supplemented low permeability soil liner, new landfill liner system, leachate collection pipes, sumps, pumps and discharging piping, installation of a soil drainage layer and miscellaneous site work.
WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX
Coordination of large quantities of material to be delivered. Getting to the site and the mixing of material was critical to the timely completion of the job as well as staying within budget.
HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT
Posillico was able to solve these issues by the use of rail cars. Material was railed into a nearby depot where it was mixed then trucked a short distance to the jobsite. This saved a tremendous amount of time and money because it cut down on fuel costs and trucking.
