PROJECT OVERVIEW
The project consisted of the cleanup of a two plus acre site located at the south end of Monmouth Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. Work consisted of the excavation and disposal of 30,000 tons of PCB, lead, and industrially contaminated soil both hazardous and non-hazardous. Disposal included five different waste streams going to multiple facilities and running concurrently. A hydro barrier system was installed to contain the shallow groundwater throughout areas of the site so that the dewatering system could draw down the water level prior to back filling. Posillico utilized odor suppressant foam in order to reduce fugitive vapors from leaving the site.
