PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project involved the restoration of a 19th century retaining wall that failed during hurricane Ida. When the wall collapsed the graves and mausoleums washed out, and had to be secured on-site for placement behind the restored wall. Therefore, the scope included the handling of historic human remains separated by a retaining wall. Posillico also added structural support to remaining wall that did not fail.

HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT

Posillico worked closely with all concerned parties to understand their needs and develop work plans to address all sensitive items of concern. Working directly with the design engineer unforseen issues were mitigated in real time to keep the project progressing on schedule. Additionally, the team set up extra site controls to accommodate for the weather and adjustments in the visitation schedule.
