PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved demolition and removal of existing four span aluminum superstructures, substructures, foundations and approaches. The project scope included the design and reconstruction of superstructure with two span precast, post-tensioned box beams, raising the vertical clearance and widening the structure, replacing substructure, foundations and approaches. The job involved an upgraded drainage system, decorative fence, and landscaping.
WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX
Keeping the bridge open to traveling motorists and pedestrians during all stages of construction and completing the job in one year.
HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT
The Posillico-Greenman Pedersen design-build team designed the bridge to be built in two phases, to allow for continued traffic at all times on one half of the bridge. Each phase was connected with additional tendons. The job was completed with no injuries, under budget and before project completion date.
