PROJECT OVERVIEW

Posillico was selected to excavate and install (2) 12″ gas mains, side by side, for an approximate distance of 1,500 feet. One of the mains was medium pressure, and the other was low pressure. The scope included saw cutting various depths of concrete and asphalt, potholing utility crossings, excavating and installation of mains, performing bypasses and squeezes. Posillico also buried, inserted, and transferred approximately 40+ services. Finally, the site was restored, including curbs, sidewalks, and roadways.

WHAT MADE THIS JOB COMPLEX

The work was performed in congested communities, so keeping the public safe and controlling on-going pedestrian and vehicular traffic was a priority. Other challenges included scheduling requirements, which called for road closures and completion of all work by the winter season. In addition, final restoration had its own challenges as it was difficult to ensure every homeowner was satisfied with their different needs.

HOW POSILLICO SOLVED IT

Coordination with homeowners and clients before service-related work ensured a smooth transition throughout the infrastructure upgrade and minimal service disruptions. Also, scheduling multiple crews made certain the project met its timeline by the winter season.
