MTA-LIRR Design-Build Ellison Avenue Bridge Replacement

May 1, 2017 | News and Awards

In December 2014, Posillico was awarded the $7 million contract for Design-Build Services for the Ellison Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. The Posillico Design-Build Team included Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (design/engineering).
The former Ellison Avenue Bridge over the LIRR was 115 years old and in extremely poor condition with a reduced weight restriction of three tons. As one of only three crossings connecting the Village of Westbury across the tracks, its prompt replacement was and is vital to the safety of the surrounding community and village. On Friday, April 15, 2016 the new bridge was opened to traffic in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
